‘Books by Bicycle’ to aid the book lovers of Thiruvananthapuram

Books By Bicycle to aid book lovers
The lockdown days have urged many to spend their time reading. But not all have been able to access new books due to the movement restrictions. To help the book lovers of the capital city, Prakash P Gopinath, whom many call 'The Bicycle Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram,' has come up with a book delivery system, Books By Bicycle.
It aims to help the book lovers across Thiruvananthapuram Corporation limit to source their wish list of books from book stores.

“Those who need books can call us over the phone or fill the form on our website Indus Cycle Embassy, giving details of the books they want. We will buy them from shops and will deliver them to their doorsteps on our bicycles. The book stores are open on Tuesday and Friday only, so we procure the books from shops on these days and deliver them without delay.”
The book on wheels system, which was launched last week, has been receiving a good response, according to Prakash. “Most of the inquiries are for children's books and novels for elders. It is good to see that books are still taken as companions,” he adds.
